Redefining Safety: Leakage Current and Insulation

The two biggest differences between an ordinary consumer power supply and a medical power supply are Leakage Current and Insulation Protection. 

Medical power supply must meet the requirement of IEC60601-1 certification, that leakage current to the patient should typically not exceed 100 μA (Type BF) or 10 μA (Type CF). As for the insulation protection, medical adapters generally adopt a Class II structure (no grounding) + 2×MOPP insulation, which means that even if one layer of insulation is damaged, the other layer can still ensure safety. 

Engineers in Quankang use Reinforced Insulation to ensure safety. A thicker insulation layer is added between the primary and secondary of the transformer, verified by the 4–5kVAC Hi-Pot Test, so that the adapter can maintain safe insulation performance even in long-term operation or in humid and aging environments.
